iLEAPS is the land-atmosphere core project of the International Geosphere-Biosphere Programme (IGBP). The scientific goal of iLEAPS is to provide understanding how interacting physical, chemical and biological processes transport and transform energy and matter through the land-atmosphere interface. iLEAPS encourages international and crossdisciplinary collaboration, particularly involving scientists from the developing countries.

iLEAPS Science Conference and Early Career Scientist Workshop (ECSW) 2009

iLEAPS is organizing a Science Conference parallel with GEWEX on 24-28 August 2009, and an Early Career Scientists Workshop (ECSW) 20-22 August 2009, prior to the main conference. Both events are in Melbourne, Australia.

Early Bird Registration has been extended to July 6th. 

The application for the travel support is closed, but you can register to ECSW using the same form until 29 June. Due to the adjounments of the submission dates, the decisions for financial assistance will be completed by the organizing committee as soon as possible.

The ECSW electronic payment is active.

iLEAPS produces several science products that can be downloaded from the website, including the Science Plan and Implementation Strategy, biannual iLEAPS Newsletter, quarterly e-mail bulletins, journal special issues, presentations, meeting reports, minutes, and logos, for example. We also  provide links to iLEAPS journal special issues. See also Science and projects for more information on and links to iLEAPS recognized activities.

Newsletter No. 7, a special issue on Integrated land-ecosystem-atmosphere  processes and climate dynamics, will be published in June 2009. Newsletter No. 8, a special issue on the Arctic and permafrost, will be published in November 2009.
