iLEAPS - OzFlux joint 2023 Conference

The 6th iLEAPS Science Conference will be held in a hybrid mode at the vibrant city of Auckland, in conjunction with the yearly conference of the Australian/New Zealand Network for eddy covariance measurements (OzFlux), from 31 January - 3 February 2023.

The conference will address the following six overarching themes.

Atmosphere
Land-Atmosphere Interactions
Impacts of Global Change Drivers on Ecosystems - Models, Experiments
Scientific Advances from Long-term Flux Monitoring and Networks
Remote Sensing

Land Use, Net Zero, and Science to Support the Paris Agreement

For more of a breakdown of topics within each theme and to submit your abstracts, please see the link below:

Abstract submissions are open now and close Sunday 11 September 2022, at 11:59pm New Zealand Standard Time.

iLEAPS Lite Conference - May 2022

The second iLEAPS Lite conference was held virtually in May/June 2022.  Like last year we had few exciting sessions coordinated by iLEAPS steering committee members from Italy, UK and India. Each session had 4-5 short talks, followed by time for discussion and interaction with the panel. The meetings are recorded and youtube video links will be made available soon:

  • Role of Biogenic Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) in Atmosphere.
  • Net-zero and impacts on biosphere-atmosphere processes.
  • Nitrogen exchange in the atmosphere.

iLEAPS Lite Conference - March 2021

During March 2021, iLEAPS hosted a series of four webinars to engage our research network as we reschedule our Open Science Meeting in New Zealand to take place in Spring 2022. The research webinars covered topics from air quality-climate interactions in South Asia (March 16), to microbial soil ecology and the carbon cycle (March 18), to semi-arid land-atmosphere interactions (March 23), and to how COVID-19 has indirectly affected forest ecosystem services (March 25). The webinars provided an opportunity for early-career scientists to engage with a panel of experts from around the globe, with sessions coordinated by iLEAPS steering committee members from Italy, China, New Zealand, and India. Each session had 4-5 short talks, followed by time for discussion and interaction with the panel.  Please see theyYoutube link to the recordings of the meeting sessions below:
